01

Storyboard & planning

Build and review a shot plan before creating media or assembling the timeline.

Manual storyboard

Create, reorder, duplicate, group, and edit scene and shot cards with timing, action, dialogue, and camera direction.

Create with AI

Build an editable storyboard from a creative brief, project format, duration, visual style, and selected references.

Scoped rewrites & locks

Rewrite a selected scope while keeping locked shots unchanged unless you explicitly allow them to change.

Project references

Import or generate reference images, organize them by category, and attach them to the shots they should guide.

Shot media creation

Create visuals or videos for one shot, a selection, or the current storyboard scope with visible batch progress and cancellation.

Sync to Timeline

Send storyboard scenes to ordinary editable timelines and keep storyboard sync status visible when the timeline changes.

02

AI creation

Create the missing visual or sound in context through one connected fal.ai account.

Text to image & image editing

Generate a new still from a prompt or rework an existing project image with ordered visual references.

Three video creation modes

Create video from text, animate a starting image, or guide a shot with selected reference images.

Lip sync

Combine a selected face video with a Speech track or audio file, then switch between the original and completed takes.

Speech, music & sound effects

Generate spoken audio, music, prompt-based sound effects, or sound effects matched to a selected video.

Models & visible inputs

Choose from the models available for the selected capability and review every prompt, reference, and setting before submission.

Versions, takes & cost estimates

Compare generated takes, make one active, inspect their job context, and see an estimate when provider pricing is available.

03

Timeline editing

Shape generated and imported media with precise, non-destructive editing tools.

Multitrack video & audio

Layer video tracks with dedicated Speech, Music, and SFX audio tracks in an editable sequence.

Core clip editing

Add, move, trim, split, copy, cut, paste, duplicate, enable, lock, link, unlink, and delete clips.

Frame-aware navigation

Play, pause, step by frame, seek, drag the playhead, zoom the timeline, and jump to sequence bounds.

Snapping & markers

Snap edits to the playhead, clip edges, and sequence bounds, and add durable named markers.

Track controls

Enable, mute, solo, and lock tracks; reorder video tracks and remove supported empty tracks directly from the timeline.

All Scenes overview

Review every storyboard scene on one read-only timeline and play the scenes continuously in order.

04

Picture, color & titles

Refine the current frame with controls that carry through to the exported video.

Program monitor

Preview the current composite at Auto, Full, half, or quarter quality while you edit.

Transform & crop

Adjust position, scale, rotation, anchor, crop, and opacity from the Inspector.

Direct positioning

Move the selected visual clip directly in the Program monitor and commit the result to the project.

Dissolve & Dip transitions

Switch a timeline transition between Dissolve and Dip, with duration controlled from the adjoining clip edges.

Color correction & matching

Adjust tonal and color controls, match a clip to a reference clip, and refine the result with YRGB curves.

Styled titles

Add editable Basic, Lower third, Cinematic, or End card titles and customize their typography and placement.

05

Media & project organization

Keep mixed-media projects organized and reconnect sources when files move.

Video, image & audio import

Import media with the file picker or drag and drop it into the Media panel.

Media filtering & preview

Filter the library by media type and preview supported video and audio without leaving the editor.

Thumbnails & waveform status

Use generated thumbnails and visible waveform readiness to identify media quickly.

Offline relink

Keep offline media in the project, locate the moved source, and reconnect it through the Media panel.

Compatible copies

Create an editing-compatible copy for media the current playback pipeline cannot use directly.

Versions / Takes

Preview and compare up to two takes, rename or duplicate versions, and choose the active version for an asset.

06

Audio & background jobs

Mix audio in the sequence while long-running creation and export work stays visible.

Speech, Music & SFX tracks

Place imported or generated audio on purpose-built tracks and keep each role easy to identify.

Clip gain & fades

Adjust gain plus fade-in and fade-out durations for the selected audio clip.

Timeline-aware AI audio

Create speech, music, or sound effects for a selected track and choose how the new audio overlaps existing clips.

Video-based SFX

Generate sound for a selected video clip as a separate SFX clip or as a new video take with audio merged in.

Background Jobs panel

Follow AI generation and export jobs while continuing to edit the project.

Cancel, resume & retry

Cancel active work, resume a saved AI request, or explicitly retry a failed request with its billable status shown.

07

Export

Render a project-matched H.264 MP4 with a small set of clear controls.

Full video or one scene

Export all storyboard scenes in order or choose one scene from the project.

Match-project H.264 MP4

Use the chosen scope's sequence resolution and frame rate with H.264 video, AAC audio, and the full sequence range.

Quality & bitrate

Choose Draft, Standard, or High quality and adjust the video bitrate from 1 to 200 Mbps.

Portable software encoding

Use the bundled OpenH264 software encoder for consistent exports across supported systems.

Progress & output access

Follow export progress, cancel an active render, and open the completed file location from the dialog.

Source preflight

Validate original media before rendering and export downloaded sources without using fal.ai.

08

Control, safety & recovery

Keep the project recoverable and make billable or external actions explicit.

Visible save state

See Saving, Saved with the current revision, or Recovery required directly in the editor.

Recovery points

Create a checkpoint with the save shortcut and restore a verified recovery point if the main project database cannot open safely.

Secure fal.ai connection

Store the connected API key through Windows credential protection and show only its fingerprint in the app.

Explicit AI inputs

Review selected prompts, references, source media, and model settings before an AI job is submitted.

No silent AI spend

Show an estimate when available and require an explicit action before a retry submits another billable provider request.

Local-first editing

Keep imported and completed media available for ordinary editing when the AI connection is not in use.

Private beta

Built for real editing, not just generation.

This page lists features that are available through the current app interface. It does not include unfinished experiments or code-only capabilities.

Model availability can still change during the private beta.
